Sorry for the break - I don’t know what to say. While I’m making apologies - sorry for not including MP3s on this post - I had trouble logging into our FTP server and didn’t have time to figure it out. There is, however, a lot of music to enjoy in this post via videos and embedded Lala music players.

Here is a random assortment of worthwhile things to check out today:

First off, some breaking news: Vampire Weekend landed #1 on the Billboard 200 chart. Congrats boys!

You might remember the lovely actress, Charolette Gainsbourg from the Stereopathic Podcast (we doubt you remember her from anywhere else). Her newest album, IRM, can be streamed for free for one whole week in advance of it’s release here at NPR. I suggest you give it a listen. Beck co-wrote and produced the whole album. Here’s the video for Heaven Can Wait:

Spoon’s got a new album out. Scope out this video of “Written in Reverse” live on Conan:

The new album rules! Here it is (thanks Lala!):

Finally - 4AD has started a new live video session project with their artists. The first session (as far as I can tell) is with Tune-Yards, who are very rapidly becoming one of my favorite new bands this year. I love that she (Merrill Garbus) is comfortable with being very experimental on songs like “Hatari”, but can lay down some really straight-forward, pretty pop diddies like “News” and “Fiya.” Here’s the album, (let me know what you think!):

And here’s the video:

Makes me want to see her live!
