Bitte Orca Streaming at NPR

Representational telepathyDirty Projectors have caused me both external and internal debate. Before I started hearing new songs off of Bitte Orca I had to admit that they held my attention, but I couldn’t say whether I really thought they were worthy of it. I like a certain amount of audience baiting and difficult listening, but it’s hard to defend those things as virtuous on their own. However, like their experimental brethren Grizzly Bear and Animal Collective (as Brendan noted in the Veckatimest post), they’ve decided that 2009 is the year to release their most accessible record yet.

We’ve already posted on a couple Bitte Orca tracks, but now you can go and hear the new album streaming in it’s entirety over at NPR. Even if it’s not your cup of tea, the record is worth your time.
