iTunes, you let me down again. Less than a month after you dropped the fantastic “Walking On a Dream” by Empire of the Sun on me, you deliver this recycled neo-soul hip hop track from Boaz. Boaz? Really? Are rappers so tired of monickers consisting of a consonant and a one or two syllable word separated by a hyphen that they’ve started mining the Old Testament for stage names? Perhaps Boaz is trying to tell us that he’ll save us from a cruel world of laborious listening if we’ll just be faithful to him*.

Sorry, Boaz. It ain’t happening. Kanye West called. He wants his vocal delivery back. Also, Common would like his beat returned as soon as possible.

If the Boaz track’s got you down, hit iTunes up for the free download of Mastodon’s “Divinations” video for some over-the-top archaeology/caveman/abominable snow man action.

*Check the Old Testament book of Ruth

Will Thompson enjoys putting somewhat carefully chosen words in relatively meaningful order.
