anna_karinaPlease love us. We dress this way so you’ll notice that we want you to notice. Please.

We haven’t always been Dirty Projectors fans, but everything we’ve heard off of the new album sounds fantastic.

The Dirty Projectors - No Intention mp3

We’re posting this in the same spirit that Fever Ray’s Karin Dreijer Andersson makes aesthetic decisions. There’s nothing rational behind it; we just want to creep you out a little.

Fever Ray - If I Had a Heart mp3

If you’re going to listen to a Bat For Lashes song, and you’re going to, it should be this one. We know it’s the single, and it’s not very cool to just point someone to the single, but I’m pretty sure it’s exactly the right song to introduce the record.

Bat For Lashes - Daniel mp3

If you haven’t heard Little Wings, we recommend that you at least hear this song. Not only is the song great, but it prompted the most uncomfortable/worst performance I’ve ever seen. Calvin Johnson of K-records and Beat Happening.

Little Wings - Look At What the Light Did Now mp3

This is really cynical. Having just downloaded the new Deerhunter track off of Pitchfork, we now hike our little skirt up another inch just so we can be among the first on internet to re-blog it. To add to the cynicism, we haven’t even had the chance to listen to it yet.

Deerhunter - Rainwater Cassette Exchange mp3

Also, just to recap a little from the last week:

We posted on Horse Feathers, who played in Moscow this week, a great show we’ll talk more about at a later date.

Brendan meditated on Neko Case’s ‘This Tornado Loves You.’

Dan Suggests! a track from Micachu.

Molly posted on Pullman, Washington’s Yarn Owl.

Our new friend Will Thompson had a few things to say about Joe Jackson.

Have a great weekend.
